Meet the teacher

My name is Gina Englund and this is my 20th year to teach. I've taught Kindergarten, first and second grade, but my love is teaching first graders. I spent 11 years teaching in Mobile Public Schools and this is my 9th year at Mobile Christian. I truly love teaching here at MCS. Now a little about me I have lived in Mobile, Alabama all my life. I graduated from Baker High School in the Class of 1978. I graduated from University of South Alabama with a degree in Early Childhood Education. My husband's name is Bruce and we have been happily married for 28 years. We have three wonderful children, Mitchell, Courtney and Monica. Monica graduated from Mobile Christian and is married to Jonathan Dean who also graduated from MCS. They have blessed my life with a beautiful grandbaby named Ava. Courtney graduated in '07' and is currently working on her teaching degree at Auburn University. My son ,Mitchell is in 6th grade here at MCS. I feel so blessed to be on the same campus with my children. I am an animal lover. We have a horse named General, a pony named Apple Jack, a dog named Toby and cats named Albert, Leo, Lucy and Rosy. We also have many kittens that I haven't named because I would like for them to be named by their future owners. I worship at Creekwood Church of Christ where I also teach a class called "Christian Soldiers". It it for all children ages 4 through the 3rd grade, but everyone is welcome. My passion is teaching children. They enrich my life so much! Children are so honest and true to themselves, much can be learned from them. I feel so blessed to be a part of Mobile Christian School. It has such a warm, friendly atmosphere and truly a place where the children can grow. Jesus is the focus in each and every lesson that is taught.
