Parents of gifted children have unique challenges

Parent Participation Opportunities

 

q       Participate on school committees and advocate for enrichment opportunities that appeal to the interests of GATE and Honor Roll students (examples: Destination Imagination problem-solving tasks, student writing contests, newspaper editors, school garden projects, mentors, etc.).

q       Volunteer to lead before/after school series (examples: computer website design, math club, guest speakers/mentors, drawing and sketching sessions, drama group, First Robotics teams, etc.).

q       Attend GATE Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Meetings – open meetings are scheduled, with dates/times published in school newsletters and posted on this website.

q       Support District-wide enrichment events as a planner, participant and/or volunteer.
