Dear rising 6^th graders and parents:

Allow us to be one of the first to welcome you to Trickum Middle School. Although the summer is upon us, we all know how important it is that the skills you have learned through 5^th grade are maintained. For this reason, the attached math packet has been developed. There are 20 pages in all. The skills covered in these pages represent what the teachers at Trickum see as the most important concepts that need to be mastered before entering middle school. The hope is that you will spread these exercises out over the summer. One suggestion might be to complete 2 pages per week over the 10 weeks of summer vacation.

This completed packet will be turned in to your math teacher on or before August 10^th, the first Friday of the 2012-2013 school year. Those students who complete their packet with a minimum of 80% accuracy will be rewarded for their efforts. We appreciate your support in helping to maintain skills and to bridge the gap between elementary and middle school. We are confident that proper preparation will start you off on a successful transition to middle school.
