Go The Distance – May 24-25, 2012 Franklin Jog-a-thon - May 24, 2012 Click here to go to the Go The Distance Page or visit the Go the Distance website. Franklin Jog-a-thon: Franklin students will show how they go the distance for Franklin and participate in our jog-a-thon on May 24th. Students will be asked to collect donations and have the chance to win a Green Team t-shirt, as well as other prizes for being the highest earner. Volunteers need to help the students run the track during their scheduled jog-a-thon times, pass out water & snacks and lead thru the "Health Fair" demo put on by our 7th grade student. Volunteers needed to help set, serve & clean. (30mins - 2 hrs) LEAD: Judy Bailey School Play/Drama Club - Play scheduled for June 2 &3, 2012 Students in 4th-8th grades will be able to participate in a before-school Drama Club in preparation for this year’s school play. Club will meet once per week starting in Fall 2011. This year we are hoping to have students help write the play in addition to having acting roles. Volunteers needed to help with after school club and creating all aspects of the performance. LEAD: David Beseler Field Day BBQ – June 2012 PTC provides a healthy lunch for students and staff during their Field Day activities that are planned for school that day. Volunteers needed to help set up, serve and clean up; 1-2 hrs. LEADS: Jennifer Dennis & Jenni Miloglav Staff Appreciation: All year This allows us to show how much we appreciate the teachers & staff for everything they do for our children. The staff is treated to wonderful monthly luncheons hosted by grade levels and gifts of gratitude by the PTC. The Room Parents of each class are asked to coordinate activities for their teachers & aides to show their appreciation throughout the year. This is a fun way to get to know the Franklin staff. LEADS: Amy Toth & Ann Baker CHOICES Program – Spring 2012 Workshop presented to 8th grade students to help them achieve academic success in pursuit of their career and life aspirations. Students go through real-world exercises on academic self-discipline, time and money management, and goal setting to discover they can take charge of their lives. LEAD: Ann Baker Dinner Auction – March 24, 2012 @ High Hand Nursery This is our largest fundraiser of the year and is the main financial source for the many programs that the PTC offers at Franklin. LEADS: Lori Jorgensen, Amy Osborne & Kasey Smith B.E.A.R. Night – April 13, 2012 Be Enthusiastic About Reading (B.E.A.R.) Night is a program for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders that encourages reading with a sleepover party at Franklin School. Students who do the required reading spend a fun night playing games, crafts, snacks, story time by our librarian Miss Krissy and a slumber party in the gym, breakfast and home by 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Reading Contracts stating that you are intending to participate are due to the school by Wednesay, March 7th (Download BEAR Night Contract Here). It is important that these are in time for us to plan the evening and get a tentative head count for participants. Download Forms: BEAR Night Flyer & BEAR Night Book Report Form.
