Math Path is a summer program for middle school students who are gifted in math. In 2008, it will be hosted in Vermont, from June 29-July 27. See the link below for more information. Kopernik Summer Science Explorations for middle and high school students is held at the Kopernik Space Educaton Center in Vestal, NY. Students are housed on campus at Binghamton University. Students pursue scientific investigations in astronomy and space science. Some financial assistance is provided for students with a demonstrated need. See the website for more information. Lego Robotics Engineering Academy - Summer day camp for ages 11-14 at RPI. Participants use LEGO Mindstorms to design, construct, and program robotic solutions to complex engineering challenges. There is also a VOX Robotics Engineering camp for students 13-15. Nature's Treasure Hunt: Exploring Local Ecosystems Through Art & Science. This camp, held at RPI, uses lab techniques to teach ecological awareness and further literacy. Held July 7-11, 2008; open to students 8-12 years old. Tuition $500. This one-week program teaches rising 7th and 8th grade students about forensic science using hands-on lab exercises, field trips, and speakers. Learn the science behind crime scene investigations. Brown University SPARK Program - One-week residential program for 7th and 8th grade students who are gifted in math and science. The 2007classes include labwork, weather, earth science, animal science, microcomputer programming, ecology, and physics, among other topics. Crime Scene Investigation Camp - This camp is for students in grades 7-12 and is held at the SUNY Cobleskill campus. Students will be instructed by FBI investigators, State police, scientists, and others in development of a forensic investigation and then present their cases to an attorney from the district attorney's office.
