Attention All Prom Attendees: Check the list posted on the Guidance wall for your name. If your name is not on the list or if there is an error please see Ms. Barucky ASAP or you will you not be on the ballot for Prom King, Queen & Court. Voting will take place on Wednesday, May 16th. German Club Members: Meeting this Tuesday, May 15th. All of those who are participating in Riverside Alive must sign up for a time slot no later than this Thursday!
ATTENTION PROM ATTENDEES: YOU CAN PICK UP PICTURE FORMS IN THE MAIN OFFICE. Any junior interested in ushering at class day and/or graduation should see Ms. McGee during HOMEROOM or 10th PERIOD no later than May 22. There will be a prayer service tonight, MONDAY at 9:00 pm at Divine Mercy Parish. This service is for Gary Lukasiewicz. All are invited to attend. There will a mandatory art club meeting today. We will be discussing the field trip to storm king which will be on Thursday. Please join us again Wednesday at 7:30 am for “SEE YOU AT THE POLE” to pray for Gary. Prom tickets will be on sale Monday, April 23rd thru Friday, May 4th. Ticket cost is $15 for Riverside Seniors, $35 for all others. You must have a prom reservation form filled out in order to purchase tickets. See Ms. Barucky or Mrs. Roche for details.
Attention Seniors: a representative from Prudential will be here on Wednesday, May 2nd during 2nd period to talk to interested students about their sales trainee program. Prudential will hire students with a high school diploma and train them to become a salesperson for their company. If any senior interested in this presentation please sign up in guidance by Tuesday, May 1st. For any senior who completed community services hours for the Challenge Program. Community Service forms signed by a site supervisor are due to Mrs. Judge by next Friday, May 4th. Only hours done up until the end of the 3rd quarter will count. You cannot win the $250 Challenge Program prize for community service if you do not hand in this form! Forms are available in the guidance office. Juniors and Sophomores can earn hours up until the end of the school year but must still hand in a form by the last day of school. Juniors interested in taking the June SAT at Riverside – please be aware of the approaching registration deadline. May 8th is the deadline to register for the SAT’s on June 2nd. If you need a fee waiver please see Ms. Jennings.

Attention 7th grade girls: There is a new girls summer basketball league starting May 1st at the Taylor Community Center. This league is for girls grades 3 thru 7th grade and will be a combination of Taylor, Moosic, Old Forge and Dunmore girls. The games will be played every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 until 9. Sign ups are THIS THURSDAY at the TCC starting at 6:00. Don't miss this opportunity to play.
Chorus has resumed practices onstage again... We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, just in case several members may have forgotten (please note the sarcasm). The Drama Club will meet every Wednesday to rehearse for the Riverside Alive! improv show. Students who have signed up or students that are interested should attend. We will meet each 10th period in Mrs. McDermott's room. The National Honor Society will meet on Wednesday, April 25, during 10th period in room 320. Spring service projects will be discussed. German Club Members: There is a meeting TODAY for all who are helping with Riverside Alive/German Club during 10th period. All officers must attend. ALSO, movie night is this Friday from 6-8pm in room 231. The cost is $1 for those who fundraised and $5 for those who did not which will cover the pizza, wings, soda/water. Please pay by Wednesday. Any art club members who still owes $20.00 for the field trip your money is due today. Attention Juniors: The Junior class will be attending the annual college fair at the Woodlands on next Monday, April 30th. ! All Juniors will attending. Buses will leave from Riverside by 8:30 and return before 5th period. Miss Jennings will be around to your classes this week to prepare students for the trip. If anyone who sold Art Club T-shirts did not pick them up to distribute should do so today. See Mr. Yanashot.

The testing will run 1st through 4th period. Students will remain in their homerooms for testing. Riverside art club is selling t-shirts as a fundraiser drawn by one of our very own members. T-shirts are available from Mr. Yanashot or an art club member for only $10.00. If you choose to purchase one you will receive a dress down day. Money and forms are due Friday March 30th. A reminder to any student planning to take an AP Exam in May - Money is due today! No exceptions. If you qualify for a fee waiver please see Mrs. Judge or Ms. Jennings for details about a reduced fee.
Any juniors interested in playing a Division I or II sport in college need to start the application process for the NCAA. See Mrs. Judge for more details. Career Link will be here on Tuesday, April 3rd to talk to seniors about employment and training options after high school. If you are still undecided about your plans for after high school you want to attend this presentation! Sign up in the guidance office by Friday, March 30th. A representative from the Electrical Union will be here Friday April 13th during 3rd period to talk to any interested seniors about the application process to work in local trade unions. Any senior interested in the trades – Plumbing, Welding, Electrical, Carpentry, Masonry, etc. – should sign up for this presentation. This is a great opportunity if you would like to work right out of high school. Please sign up in guidance by Wednesday, April 4th before Easter Break. There will be a brief meeting for all 8th grade Reading Team members on TODAY, March 30. It will be 10th period in Room 115. If you are attending the NEIU Reading Competition in May, you MUST be at this meeting! March Madness continues in the Library! Any high school students interested in art, and would like to participate in the Van's Custom Culture Contest, please see Ms. Temples in room 311 as soon a possible. It is a great opportunity to work with other creative students and design unique sneakers for a national contest.
