“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.” Creative Writing class will attempt to bring out the verbal artist in you J We will spend the semester working in a variety of genres from poetry to short stories to children’s books & movie scripts. You will keep a journal, part will be used to respond to writing prompts, and part will be used for your free writing story ideas. I ask that you bring an open mind, a commitment to write and a desire to express yourself . I am looking forward to a semester filled with exciting stories, poems and free writing. As the summer comes to a close start writing some ideas about interesting things you’ve done & seen. These can be great ways to peak your imagination. Bring some magazines/pictures that reflect you - we will be decorating your journals during the first week. Supplies: Loose paper Pens & Pencils Flash Drive Folder
