6TH GRADE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. Do 6th graders try out with 7th and 8th graders?
Yes. Please understand that a 6th grader who is 10-11 years old, will be trying out with students that can potentially be 15 years old.
2. Do 6th graders make athletic teams?
Yes. It is however realistically tough. There is a huge athletic and physical difference between an 11 year old and a 15 year old. That being said, we have had great 6th grade athletes be instrumental members of our teams.
3. Where can I find information on the individual team tryouts?
As a season begins, there will be announcements made. Information will posted throughout the school, on the athletic website, and on the school main website.
4. How do I tryout?
For each individual sport there is a required tryout form that must be completed by a parent/guardian and returned to the sports coach. These forms are located in the administration office, front office, PE locker rooms, and on the Athletic website. You must attach a copy of your insurance card and current report card. Parents and students must sign the form stating they have read and understand Falcon Coves Athletic Team tryouts policies and procedures located on an icon to the left. You must also have a GPA of a 2.0 or above and no "U" unsatisfactories in behavior on your report cards. You can't tryout if you have a GPA lower than a 2.0 on your report cards. The length of tryouts are determined by the individual coach.
5. How do I sign up for a sport?
There are no sign ups for a sport. There are only tryouts.
