A Week-Library on Monday (return books) Character Word for the Month: Cooperation
Author of the Month: Eric Carle Story This Week: The Bug Bath Star Student of the Week: Connor Mauro Word Families: ob, ox, ot, og, op, on, od, ock Spelling Words: hop, top, hot, not, lock, rock Sight Words: saw, two, very, want Remember: Your child will take a spelling test on Friday. Please write the spelling words and sight words on index cards and practice throughout the week. The sight words will be the challenge words. Be prepared.....study.
Areas of focus this week include: - learn about bats
- read and write words with short o
- review character (tells who) and plot (tells what)
- Unit 1 Math Assessment (chapters 1-4)
- use a number line to add
- learn addition strategies (count on, use a number line, or draw a picture)
- add -s to make most nouns name more than one
- add -es to form the plural of nouns that end with s, sh, ch, or x
- review: begin each sentence with a capital letter and end with a period or question mark
HOMEWORK:
Monday-Reader Response & Math 4.2/4.3 Tuesday- Reader Response & "One Good Pup" writing Wednesday- Reader Response & Math 4.4/4.5 Thursday- Reader Response sentence & picture (color) Friday-Hand in all homework assignments ***Homework assignments can be handed in any time throughout the week. All homework is due by FRIDAY.
