Spelling and Vocabulary Lists

Your child will take a spelling pretest and receive a weekly Spelling list every Monday. * Children who are absent on Monday will still be expected to take the spelling test on Friday. * Your child has a standing assignment to study the list for about 10 minutes each night. If your child is not spending about 10 minutes each night practicing the current Spelling words and learning the vocabulary definitions, he/she is not completing a portion of the assigned homework.
* The words included in each Spelling list that are in italics are words that appear often in our Scott Foresman's Reading Street textbook. The list of words will usually be grouped to follow certain vowel and/or consonant patterns.
