Welcome to Coach Butcher's page. I'm enjoying my third year at JPII, after teaching and coaching in Allen ISD. Before that, I spent 10 years in the Journalism business, 5 of those at The Dallas Morning News, earning awards in various news, features and sports writing categories. In addition to teaching the classes you see on your left, I'm also the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the JPII varsity football team, as well as the Head Boys' and Girls' Track Coach. Click on the links to your left for more information on each of my classes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Parents, do not be alarmed at the lack of a calendar or other items you might find on other teachers' pages. This is very intentional on my part. It is part of my fundamental teaching philosophy, which is to make my classes, particularly Journalism and Newspaper, as "real-world intensive" as possible. One of my major goals is to help your kids become both self-motivated AND self-sufficient when it comes to managing their time and keeping track of their responsibilities. This is especially true in regards to Journalism and Newspaper, where meeting deadlines is absolutely crucial to success. If you have any questions about this, call or e-mail anytime.
Thanks, and take care!
Vision: We will make a difference in the world by walking in the footsteps of Pope John Paul II. Mission: To develop leaders who are critical thinkers and effective communicators, committed to service and rooted in faith.
