Very Important Person

Each Friday one lucky student is chosen to be the following week's VIP- Very Important Person. That person will get to share something special about him or herself so we we can learn all about him/her. On Monday, the VIP will bring in three photographs to talk about. On Tuesday, we get to see a favorite collection or stuffed animal. On Wednesday, the VIP brings in an object to show what he/she is an expert at. On Thursday, the VIP will read a favorite book to the class.

The rest of the class has a chance to ask questions when the sharing is done. Being the VIP helps the children feel more comfortable speaking in front of others and gives them a chance to practice "public speaking skills." The audience needs to practice listening and patience skills.
