All-Star Club

The All Star club is for second graders that would like to learn more than I am teaching during the school day. All you have to do is learn all there is to know about a topic and then make an appointment to come tell or show me your knowlegde before school or at snack.  You can become a one star member or work your way all the way up to the top.

How does Star Chasers work?

There are 5 All-Star subject pages (Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Math and Miscellaneous).  If you are interested in starting, then come see me for an All-Star Folder. You may keep the folder in your cubbie or take it home. Choose a subject to get started!  All of the topics have a website link to help you get started on your journey.  While these websites contain a lot of information about the topic, they will not have everything you need to learn about the topic.  You will have to search other sites and read some books as well.  When you think you are ready, make your appointment. At your meeting with me you must prove that you have indeed learned about the topic you picked.  Once your knowledge has been proven, you will get a star on the All-Star chart.  Once you have earned 10 stars on the chart your name will be put on the Wall of Fame.

How long do we have to learn about a topic?

Take as long as you need!  You may choose any topic in any subject area that you wish.  This is your learning and you have control over what and when you learn about each topic. 

When can I work on in my All-Star folder?

You may work in your folder when your other work is completed. You can also work on it during snack or before school. Of course, you may choose a topic and study with your family at home as well.
