Interdependence Day Website
This is all about Interdependence Day. Everything you need to know about this is at this site. At Riverside we get involved in the Hexagon Project to commemorate Interdependence day. The Hexagon Project is a worldwide art show that encompasses the four continents of North America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Riverside will participate annually in this fun filled and worthwhile event. There are great pictures of the Art opening along with work of our students here at Riverside. Check out this site to understand what Interdependence Day and the Hexagon Project are all about.
The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center - West Rutland, Vermont
This is where Mr. Yanashot buys most of his marble. It is located on an old marble mine. The Carving Studio is in West Rutland, Vermont. They have a great gallery and offer classes in all types of sculpture. In the summer they offer weeklong courses in sculpture-making. You might want to take a course this summer. Mr. Yanashot took a bronze casting course one year for a week. Check this site out.
Artists For Art - Scranton
This is the first art group in the Scranton Area. AFA has a great gallery that is open during the week and especially on First Fridays. You can see Mr. Yanashots page with examples of his work in an artist link within their webpage.

This is a great museum featuring traditional works of art in Manhattan; it's a beautiful old mansion with beautiful artwork, 2-D and 3-D. Check it out.
Metropolitan Museum of Art - New York City
This is the BIG ONE. It houses the greatest art on earth. Every kind of art you can imagine; painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, furniture, musical instruments, architecture, etc. Don't miss this site!!
The Louvre - Paris, France
The most famous museum in the world! Mona L. lives here. See it!
Philadelphia Museum of Art - Phila., PA.
A great museum just about in our back yard! Check it out!!
Falling Water - Near Pittsburgh, PA
I motorcycled to this beautiful museum. It is a house designed by world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Guess what year it was built. You won't believe it judging by it's character. Find out at the site! It's a great place to visit when you are in the Pittsburgh area. Check it out!
Dia Beacon
This is a great place. A former factory for Ritz Crackers. It's now a huge art museum featuring works from the 1960's to the present. Warhol, Beuys, Serra, etc. Check it out!
Raku Museum - Japan
We fire American Style Raku here at Riverside in our 3-D Design art classes. This is a form of pottery that was adapted from the ancient Japanese of the 16th Century! Learn about the people, history, philosophy and see examples of historic ancient Raku ware. This is a must-see site.
Storm King Art Center - Mountainville, NY
600 acres of Monumental Sculpture!!!! The Riverside Art Club has visited this site a few times. See the famous Andy Goldsworthy "Wall". This is an excellent site that features the world's greatest monumental sculptors. Explore it!
Grounds For Sculpture - Hamilton, N.J.
This is another great place to explore. The Riverside Art Club visited this site twice. The sculpture is unique and monumental. There are also two indoor galleries. Live peacocks wander through the grounds! See it here.
Everhart Museum - Scranton
This is a great art museum that Mr. Yanashot's 3-D classes have visited on field trips. It's a great local museum. Visit it at Nay Aug Park in Scranton. It's right in your back yard!
Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers U - N.J.
The Riverside Art Club has visited this museum at Rutgers University. Always showing interesting shows and housing a great permanent collection. See this site.
The National Gallery of Art - Washington, D.C.
This is our country's great collection of art. The Riverside Art Club has visited this museum. It is awesome. Many types of art are represented.
Loeb Art Center at Vassar College Poughkeepsie NY
This is another art museum that the Riverside Art Club has visited. Much of the major artists of the world are represented here. See this museum's site.
Guggenheim Museums - Worldwide
The Riverside Art Club has visited the Guggenheim in NYC. It is a great space for art. The famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright (Falling Water)designed this unique museum. It is shaped like a spiral. You can take the elevator to the top and walk down the spiral viewing all the artwork, or you can get some exercise and walk up to the top viewing the work. It's a great view from the top. Don't miss this one!

Alexander Calder - Father of Kinetic Art
Learn about one of the most important sculptors of the 20th Century! Alexander (Sandy) Calder is the inventor of the mobile. He is the father of kinetic (moveable) art. He also created monumental "stabiles" that did not move. He was also a painter in his early years, he made jewelry, household utensils, gag Christmas gifts and created a most whimsical kinetic circus from wire and found objects. He was a master of wire sculpture and created portraits and figural works of wire also. Sandy was a man of many talents. He is an artist well worth learning about!

Andy Goldsworthy - Environmental Artist
Learn all about Andy Goldsworthy the environmental or land artist. Mr. Yanashot's 3-D Design classes have worked in the vein of Mr. Goldsworthy and learned about his life. Learn more about this fascinating artist that practices his art in a unique way. Students in the Riverside Art Club have seen his work first hand at Storm King Art Center in New York State. His famous winding "Wall" is at Storm King.
Jack Troy - Ceramic Artist, Poet, Writer
I had the opportunity to attend a weekend seminar that Jack Troy gave at Marywood University. His work is excellent. He gave great demos on the potter's wheel. This seminar ran concurrently with an exhibit of his at the Mahady Gallery at Marywood. He gave a great gallery talk and lecture also. He has two published books of poetry, has written articles in Ceramics Monthly and other ceramic art magazines. He is a very accomplished artist, writer and an interesting person to meet and talk to. He travels all over the country doing clay seminars. He's a great guy, see his site.
Nannette Burti
Nannette Burti did an artist in residence at Riverside. She teaches ceramics at her own beautiful studio complex. Check out this site. If you are interested in buying ceramic equipment new or used or even clay, Nan can help you out.
David Smith - Father of Welded Steel Sculpture
This is a great website that shows the work of abstract expressionist sculptor David Smith. He was the first sculptor to use welding techniques in creating his work. Very inspiring work!
Jordan Taylor - Ceramic Artist - A New Direction
Check out this site. Mr. Yanashot took a group of students on a field trip to his studio a few years ago. It was a great trip. Jordan showed us his kiln and environs around his studio. Students even bought some of his utilitarian ceramics. He is now going in a different artistic direction.

This site contains the work of a master ceramics artist. Bill Tersteeg taught at Keystone College for many years and has work in some very prestigious museum and private collections. His work is superb! Do not miss seeing this site!!
Steve Heller - Boiceville, New York
This is the coolest website. This guy does amazing work in wood and metal. He creates sculpture and funky furniture. THIS IS WAY OUT STUFF!!!! He has true to life (alien?) spaceships. My wife and I happened on this place while vacationing in New York state. YOU MUST SEE EVERY LINK ON THIS SITE! FANTASTIC! ABSOTIVELY POSOLUTELY! DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Toshiko Takaezu
The most important ceramic artist of the 20th and 21st centuries. Check out the links to her gallery in NYC. There are many links here that will give you a good sampling of her work. I have visited Toshiko's studio more than a few times. Her work is excellent and likewise are her apprentices work. She's really cool!
Maria Martinez - San Ildefonso Mountains, New Mexico
This web site is based in The Museum Of New Mexico. It tells of the life and work of Maria Martinez. Some of you have seen the video in Mr. Yanashot's 3-D Design classes that showcases her technique. Don't forget Popovi Day! He painted the designs on the ware after Maria finished forming and burnishing them with slip. Beautiful Native American work. Check this site out for a great Pueblo Indian cultural experience. The work is outstanding and refreshing!!
