Dear Parents and Guardians:
We are into the home stretch! There are six weeks left in the 2007-2008 school year. We have much to do to end on a positive note. Typically, this is the time of year when students decide that the weather is getting warmer and it's time to let go of all of the pent up energy from the winter months. That may be okay, but we need to remind students that school is still in session and they must continue to do their best.
I have reminded teachers that the best way to keep students engaged is to maintain best practices and high standards. We don't have time for game days, free days, play days or sleep days. We must continue to plan for learning to occur and continue to help our students become as ready as possible for what the high school years will bring.
Please continue to be a positive presence and influence on the lives of our students. They have made some significant and positive gains this school year, and we have even more in store for them in the future. This is NOT the time to back down or slack off. Instead, this is the time to buckle down and finish strong. Let's encourage our students to do that.
Reminder: the final parent teacher conference date is Wednesday, May 7th, from 5pm to 7pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
