Jackson Young--40 Under Forty

  • Business and Marketing Honor Society

Fourteen students were inducted into the Business and Marketing Honor Society in May 2009.

  • Jackson Young wins 40 Under Forty--The Business Review

Jackson Young was one of four Capital Region High Schools students selected as an outstanding business student by The Business Review.  He was honored at a luncheon along with 40 outstanding business professionals.
  •  Becky Harris named Student of the Month for April 2009
  • WISE--Working in Support of Education--Financial Literacy Test, 2008-2009

This year Columbia High School's Parenting/Financial Life Skills as well as Financial Decision Making classes participated in a WISE certification program offered by The New York Financial Literacy Coalition. All classes were successful with an 84 percent pass rate!  This high pass rate will earn Columbia a  Blue Banner status!  Congratulations to Renee Jackson for scoring a perfect score on the exam in 2008.!

  • Dennis Saneski wins National Financial Literacy Award!
  • The Stock Market Game

Mrs. Shepardson’s Entrepreneurship class competed in the New York State Stock Market Game™. Congratulations go to Nicole Sheldon (11th Grade) and Cassandra DeCrescenzo (9th Grade) who teamed up to win 5th place out of 176 teams!

  • Life Smarts State Competition

The Business Law Class qualified to participate in the Life Smarts State Competition.
