First Grade Skills  English Language Arts In reading this month we will focus on the sound in the short o and short e "keys". (Keys are letter patterns that "unlock" words! For example: at as in the word cat.) We will also learn about nouns, plural nouns and ed endings. A list of all first grade sight words can be downloaded below. We will cover four or five words each week. See our homework page for weekly sight words. Math
In Math we will be working on addition and subtraction facts to thru 12 and Data & Graphing! Throughout the year encourage your child to become familiar with counting money, telling time and basic measurement concepts. Science We will begin our Keeping Fit and Healthy Unit!
Social Studies We will be learning about Veteran's Day and The First Thanksgiving. Be the best you can be! We will focus on good classroom citizenship and appropriate school behavior!
