Meet the Teacher

       Meet Mrs. Mayer

    Hello, I am Mrs. Mayer.   This is my fifth year teaching full day kindergarten.  I love kindergarten!!!  It is so exciting watching the children grow and change over the year.  I especially enjoy teaching children to read.   

     I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in education and earned my Master of Education in Reading from Lehigh University.  I spent my whole teaching career at Northern Lehigh School District  as a reading teacher, second grade teacher, first grade teacher, and as a kindergarten teacher.  I think Northern Lehigh is a wonderful place to be and Peters Elementary is the best place to go to school. 

      I live in Orefield with my husband.  We have two daughters.  My daughter, Kristen is a Sports Reporter for Service Electric 2 Sports and my daughter, Brittany is a junior at the University of Maryland.  My husband and Kristen also graduated from the University of Maryland.  We are a whole family of Maryland fans.  We love going to home football games and following the Maryland  basketball team. 

     I love to travel, cook, read, and be outside.  I love to ski, play golf, and scuba dive.   In my free time, I like to ride my bike, take long walks, and work in my garden.
