The Strategic Plan

  A plan was made to overcome these obstacles. First a committee formed, the Strategic Planning Committee, made up of all segments of Brigantine (200 members of the community) who created the Strategic Planning Goals. The goals were objectives set forth fostering daily integration of character creating a core ethical values infrastructure. Our process specifies the school community should make strong moral choices focusing on compassion, kindness, responsibility, high academic achievement, honesty, respect, and physical fitness. This promotes intrinsic moral values, academic excellence and personal success. Our program has taught children that by practicing and acquiring the habit of strong character at a young age, being a person of moral and ethical values is paramount. As a result, our school has earned 4 Kindest School in New Jersey awards, the Governor’s School of Excellence, a NJ Star School Award, five NJ Best Practices, the National Boyer Best Practice Award, 2 CEP Promising Practices, 2 Promising Practices from the New Jersey Schools of Character, and a feature presentation in Teaching K-8 Magazine.
