Classroom Climate COUNTS!

   The primary goal at Brigantine is for character education to become a natural, innate process for every child. This is accomplished by training the staff to use learning theories focusing on proactive discipline, citizenship, critical thinking, cooperation and self motivation. Proactive discipline is promoted school wide, with an emphasis on core values as  the skeleton of the classroom. The theory of proactive instead of reactive is infused. We believe if we teach children to make good decisions proactively, their results will be proactive. Individual classrooms handle this process differently; however the basic values of good choices, compassion and character remain the same. The children are immersed with positive proactive processes to support their decision making skills. This naturally leads to a better classroom climate which in turn, supports academic success.
