Recently our school applied for a nomination from the New Jersey Schools of Character. The process included taking all of our programming and applying it in their format of "11 Principles to Character Education". It was a wonderful experience realizing that our programs and processes for character education, which are the ones the state recognizes, have already been in place for over 15 years. All of the above information was placed in an 11 step format. Below are the categories the SSOC (State Schools of Character) which we wrote about. We are pleased and proud to announce that Brigantine Elementary School was selected as a school of character for the state of New Jersey. The 11 principles: principle #1. Creating a Foundation principle #2. Understanding and Defining principle #3#. A Comprehensive Approach principle #4. A Caring School Community principle #5.
