We've had such a wonderful journey with our character programming. Check out what is new this year!

Kids of Character-Each marking period, a list of character qualities is sent to every teacher. That teacher nominates one student for the child's ability to exemplify those traits. The children are announced and given a pizza party in recognition of their character efforts.

Kids Caught Doing Great Stuff! Since February, we have been trying to "catch" kids doing great things! To date our entire showcase is filled with pictures of kids doing wonderful deeds, as well as all the way down the cafeteria hall. Our goal is to fill the cafeteria hall by the end of May. Children who are "caught" get their picture taken (for the wall) and then are announced over the TV morning broadcast.

The ABC's (back again by popular demand!) This is our yearly newspaper that focuses on the A B C's of Brigantine Elementary School. If you would like a copy, please contact the main office.

Back Yard Clean Up-The Brigantine Student Council is at it again! Our Student Council created a a fun earth friendly event. They encouraged everyone in the school to go our and clean up their own backyards while they cleaned up the school backyard. Over 75 children participated in this event helping Brigantine shine!

Autism Peer Club- Our students, with the help of our Autistic instructor are in the process of beginning a peer to peer care group with regular ed students and our autistic students.

Wheaties Wall Our wonderful gym teacher has challenged us to walk everyday! If a person walks 2,000 steps a day, they get to have their picture taken in the Wheaties Box! The gym/health department has provided everyone with a pedometer to count their steps. Come check out our Wheaties Wall!

Earth Friendly Brigantine! The computer children and the students will be gathering paper bags from the local grocery store, taking them and writing earth friendly slogans on them and then returning them for Earth Day to be distributed to the customers.
