Hello! My name is Deanna Hood. I am a first grade teacher at Hillsboro Primary School. I am also a cluster teacher for the first grade Skyrockets program. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Missouri-St. Louis and am certified Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am currently working on my Master's Degree with a certification in Cross-Categorical and Reading Specialist at Missouri Baptist University. I was a substitute in the Hillsboro district for five years while earning my Bachelor's degree and this is my third year as a first grade teacher. 

I love being a first grade teacher and getting to know all the children in my class. I know that each child is special and unique and will do my very best to foster creativity, responsibility, and a love of learning in all my students. I look forward to working with you and your child to help them reach their full potential. It is my intention to meet each child's individual needs. Feel free to contact me at any time. I live in Hillsboro with my two girls. One is in seventh grade and one is in fourth grade. We have lived in Hillsboro for twelve years. We have a dog, two cats, a guinea pig, and two rabbits. I am looking forward to a great year with you all!
