The Learning Resource Center of Margaret McKenny Elementary is the heart of the school, an information center. The mission of the library media program is to encourage and support life-long learning and literacy and to ensure that students and staff are effective, self-reliant, and critical users of ideas and information.
Under the leadership of the Library Media Specialist or Teacher-Librarian, the LRC supports and facilitates resource-based instruction, personal inquiry without artificial time schedules, integration of technology into the full-life of the school, staff collaboration and team teaching, and authenticity in curriculum and instruction.
