Welcome to Mrs. Bailey's Pre-K / Music Website "Whose child is this?" I asked one day Seeing a little one out at play. "Mine," said the parent with a tender smile, "Mine to keep a little while To bathe his hands and comb his hair To tell him what he is to wear To prepare him that he may always be good And each day do the things he should." "Whose child is this?" I asked again As the door opened wide and someone came in. "Mine," said the teacher with a tender smile, "Mine to keep a little while To teach him how to be gentle and kind To train and direct his dear little mind To help him live by every rule And get the best he can from school!" ABOUT THE TEACHER: I have been teaching for 37 years - grades 1, 2, 4, 6, transitional 1st, kindergarten, pre-kindergarten and music. I spend a lot of time in the summer planning and preparing activites for my pre-k classroom. Pre-k is lots of fun and very rewarding. With the help of parents and school these kids will really "TAKE-OFF!" Please feel free to call the school and schedule a conference whenever necessary. I love getting the students ready for performances, teaching some fundamentals of music, and having fun with musical learning games. My elementary music classes always sing at the Veterans' Day program. This is an especially important event and very meaningful to me because my youngest son did two tours of duty in Iraq. We will also present at least two musicals a year. My husband, John, is a hospital administrator, and we have three grown sons. Luke is a student at West Texas A&M University, and he also does EKGs and heart echos at BSA . Mark is a draftsman/oil field equipment salesman in Pampa. Mark is married to Luzann. She is a banker and is the mother of our first grandchild, Lane Edward Bailey. My oldest son, Matt, is a nurse/dme salesman with a brand new wife. He and Alisha were married August 13, 2011. Our teacher helper is Mrs. Amanda Taylor. She is an integral part of our pre-k classroom. Mrs. Taylor has her own Facebook page just for students and parents to access. PRE-K BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS The pre-k students are expected to talk only at appropriate times, keep their hands and feet to themselves and pay attention. When a child misbehaves, he/she is warned. If the unwanted actions continue, the child will sit in time out for 5 minutes. Continued disruptive behavior will result in loss of a sticker and sitting out for 5 minutes at recess. MUSIC DISCIPLINE The music classes are large and good behavior is a must. Students are to participate, pay attention, stay in their assigned place, talk only with permission, and keep their hands and feet to themselves. They should also respect me and their fellow classmates. If a student ignores a warning, he/she will sign the book. When unwanted actions continue, the student must note this in the book, and he/she will have to sit away from the class for the remainder of the class period. Music grades are based on behavior and participation.
