The mornings hint of winter temperatures...yet to come.
A Child's Calendar November
by John Updike
The stripped and shapely Maple grieves The ghosts of her Departed leaves.
The ground is hard, As hard as stone. The year is old, The birds are flown.
And yet the world, In its distress, Displays a certain Loveliness---

Our October-November newsletter is attached, and is almost entirely dedicated to Interactive Modeling. This powerful practice helps us to develop the behaviors and habits our students need to be a successful member of their learning community.
At times it can be difficult to remember that although we have just reminded a child again of what they should, and shouldn't do, that it is developmentally appropriate that they forget as quickly as we remind them.
However, just as singing helps us to remember the words, having students interactively model the behavioral and procedural expectations of our classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and playground helps them to remember expectations. You'll find some helpful tips and examples in Behavior Challenges in the Homestretch? Interactive Modeling Can Help.
