A native New Yorker, Mrs. Adams studied at Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and Broadway Dance Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from New York University and her Master of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University.  She has enjoyed an extensive career in dance as a performer, teacher, and choreographer.  She has danced with several companies, including Philadanco II, and Dallas Black Dance Theatre and has performed extensively in the UK, France, Greece, and Africa. Mrs. Adams directed Dallas Black Dance Theatre's Second Company for four years, and her choreography has been commissioned by the Dallas Museum of Art and featured at the Dallas Morning News Dance Festival.

After temporarily moving back to New York City in 2005 to further her dance career, Mrs. Adams toured with the Broadway musical "Fosse," performing both domestically and internationally. She has served on adjunct faculty at Southern Methodist University and is beginning her third year on faculty at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

Mrs Adams is a reiki practitioner and is committed to her meditation practice. Her mission is to improve the quality of life for others by helping individuals realize their connection to the divine through meditation. Mrs Adams. began her ministry training at The New Seminary, a professional institute for training Interfaith ministers. In June of 2005 she was ordained an Interfaith minister at The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.  

Mrs. Adams enjoys yoga, meditation, spending time with her family and is excited about furthering both her dance and spiritual pursuits through teaching. .
