Aim of our program

The aim of the physical education program at Bluebonnet Elementary School is to develop and improve students’ personal fitness and motor skills by providing developmentally appropriate activities through purposeful, creative and enjoyable instruction. By incorporating challenging yet achievable tasks, the students can attain positive attitudes about physical activity and movement.

We want your child to be successful

To help promote success in our students skills and abilities, the physical education teachers concentrate on a number of factors in instruction that include repetition, creativity, challenge, fun, recognition, and cognitive thought. An attempt to integrate classroom concepts in the physical education setting is utilized by the teachers.

Outcomes

Several outcomes from the lessons presented to the students in physical education are expected. They include:

  • expression and creativity
  • body awareness
  • increased fitness levels
  • improved motor, social and emotional skills
  • self-confidence and positive self-esteem through successful physical activities
  • demonstrate cooperation, fair play and safety

Many of these outcomes stem from the opinion that students learn best when they are doing rather than watching. With dedication, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward physical activity, there is a clear belief that these outcomes can be achieved.
