As most of you know I don't assign a huge amount of homework.  I believe that kids should have time to be a kid and that homework should be used as a reenforcement of what was learned that day.  If can complete a worksheet while working with the students I would rather have that immediate feedback.  This will allow me to plan my lessons better so I can meet the needs of all my students.  With that being said, I do expect homework to be completed.  If the student completes all the homework assignments for that week they are invited to eat lunch with me in the classroom.
