A Club for Students Interested in Learning

This is a club for students who are interested in achieving “above and beyond” the normal classroom expectations. In order to belong, a student must have all assignments turned in on time, for class. Every month a list will be compiled of students who will have an opportunity to belong to the Mastery Club. Each following month the list could fluctuate as students become more responsible with their homework.

The students on the list will then choose a topic from the Mastery Club, learn all about it, and then come tell Mrs. Popp the answers during recess. A student can become a one star member, all the way up to an 93 star member. Learning never ends – thank goodness. Any student who has mastered 20 different topics or more, will earn a place in the “Hall of Fame."

To get started, choose any question (you do not have to do them in order). Click on the corresponding link to research the answer to the question. When you feel confident that you have mastered the content, let me know. If you have difficulty one day, come back the next time we meet and try again. Understand that you are also allowed to use the encyclopedia, an atlas, almanacs, or any other resource book available in the library.

God bless, Mrs. Popp

I would like to thank Mrs. Heather Renz from Redmond, Oregon, for developing the Mastery Club concept. She has graciously allowed me to modify and use her idea in my classroom. God bless Mrs. Heather Renz!
