HOMEWORK IS PRACTICE
Homework is usually assigned Monday-Thursday. Although it will not ordinarily be assigned on weekends or holidays, some projects may require additional weekend work.
Homework is a valuable tool that reinforces what the class has learned, provides additional practice, and increases student responsibility. This is the beginning of individual study habits.
The time spent each evening will vary according to each student, but should not exceed one hour, including approximately twenty minutes of independent reading. Homework should be neat, easy to read, and an accurate reflection of the student's understanding of the assignment. Performance on homework assignments helps guide future instruction in order to best meet each child's needs.
