AR Program AR Program

    September Goal -    Our goal will be 8 points with an 80% average.
      AR-We love AR in our classroom!  AR(Accelerated Reader) is a program in which every child is successful.  Each child reads books in our classroom library that are at his/her ability level. Students take tests on the computer, and it keeps track of points and percentage of questions answered correctly.
    GOALS-Each month we set our reading goal.   The point goals will vary each month.  The percentage goal will always be 85%.
     AWARDS- Students have the opportunity to participate in a monthy activity if they have met their goal.  Once students have reached 50 points, they earn a Third Grade AR Star T-shirt and then will be able to eat lunch on Thursday with the third grade teacher.  At the end of the year students will have the opportunity  to parcticipate in the AR Big Bash.  Students who have 100 points will recieve a VIP All-Access bracelet to this event.
     OBJECTIVE-Our goal is hopefully to have every child earn 100 points by the end of the year!  Statistics prove that children that have reached this goal have made huge improvements with their reading.
      DONATIONS- We are always looking for books to add to our library.  It seems that no matter how many books we have in our library it doesn't take long before we are needing more!  If anyone has extra books no longer needed, we would use, use, use them!  Also, if you would like to donate money to third grade for tax credit, we use this money mostly for this program!
