I have been the general music instructor here in Norway since 1995. I have enjoyed working at this elementary school since the day I arrived! I have had so many positive experiences with the students and staff here and truly enjoy going to work everyday! Music has always been an important part of my life and I love to share it with others. One of the ways we experience music at school is with a concept called Orff-Schulewerk. This is a fun way for children to experience playing, singing, improvising and composing music. I received my Level 1 Orff certification from Drake University. We also use play to learn about music and life through song experience games. This is an approach called Education Through Music. I received my Level 1 certification with this approach through Drake, also. Most of the children here will be able to tell you that I love COWS! This is a result of growing up on a dairy farm in Western Iowa. Some of the kids also know that I am a big Minnesota Vikings fan. This is because my older brothers had a big influence on me and I was born in Northern Minnesota. Go Vikes!! Stop in the music room during conferences and check out all of the Orff instruments your son or daughter has been playing!
