AP ENGLISH
COURSE DESCRIPTIONAP English is a comprehensive survey of several literary genres from the classics to the modern for those seniors whose reading and writing skills qualify them to do college work. This college level course stresses extensive reading, writing and discussion with emphasis on the critical analysis and interpretation of literature. It requires summer reading and the AP examination. | PRESENTLY READING Presently reading Peter Shaffer's EQUUS - a drama combining psychological realism with expressionistic theater techniques After this, the class will enjoy the production WAITING FOR GODOT while simultaneously reading the drama. ASSIGNMENTS DUE Paper due on STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE DRAMA FIELD TRIPS The class enjoyed the Irish Classical production of O'Neill's THE MOON FOR THE MISGOTTEN in November and recently the January production of Kavinoky's TWELVE ANGRY MEN. On February 3, we will be viewing Studio Arena's production of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. Hopefully, we will attend the American Playhouse Production of ALL THE WAY HOME suring the weekend of Feb 15, 2008.
