Ms. Colleen Luckie

I call The Empire State my home.  I was born in Manhattan, spent a few young years in the Bronx, then moved to Northern New York.  I was raised in Ogdensburg, a very small city on the St. Lawrence River.   Grew up playing in the park, taking dancing lessons, babysitting, singing Irish songs, participating on team sports and carrying on with three brothers and two sisters!

After graduating in 1979, I attended D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY and earned a B.S. in Special and Elementary Education.

On my journey, I taught Special Education at Wagoner Middle School, on Clark Air Base in the Philippines.  What a marvelous opportunity I had!

From there, I returned to New York and taught Special Education at the High School in Ogdensburg.  Yes, it was the some location that I had graduated from!  Stayed there for three year, earned a Master's Degree in Education and received a call from the Department Of Defense!

Here I am working in Germany.  I have taught at a few different locations and  at several levels before obtaining my second grade position at Ramstein Elementary School.

For fun......

I love to travel, read, dance, hike, walk, run, scrapbook my pictures, meet new people and help others.  I have volunteered at Paul Newman's Hole In The Wall Camps for children with chronic and terminal illnesses.  I did this in Connecticut where I met the great man, Mr. Newman, and in Ireland.

In August 2006, I participated in a 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer.  I walked 60 miles and raised $12,725.55!   This was donated by my family, friends, colleagues, students, their families, former students and families, and community members of the KMC!  It was an incredible amount of money to donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and one of the most selfless things I have ever experienced!  I continue to support this cause by  being the Team Captain of Team Sole Mates.   We participate in the local event every September in Frankfurt, Germany.

I am excited to be your child's teacher!  We will have lots of fun as we learn together throughout the school year!
