Helpful Hints

Helpful Hints for Success with School and Homework - Make sure that your agenda planner is filled out completely and accurately each day.
- Have your parent look at your agenda and completed homework before signing the agenda each evening.
- When an assignment is given and you have time in class to work be sure and begin the homework immediately. This way the instructions and directions are fresh, and you can ask your teachers for any assistance regarding the assignment. You also have an example of the work, so that if you need help at home whoever is helping you can see what you are to do.
- Stay organized. This can mean folders for each subject, or as simple as having one folder in your binder with one side for unfinished work, and the other side for your finished work.
- Ask questions if you aren't sure of yourself. Once you get home it can become so difficult to do the work if you don't know what to do.
- Have a set time and a set place each evening for doing homework. If you have your homework completed then use that time to read your AR book. It is important to stay with that time each evening being set aside for schoolwork.
- Always attempt the homework. If you don't understand the work at least make the attempt. Then the next day the teacher can see the examples of your attempts and help you fix the work based on your efforts.
- If you have concerns or problems regarding school please talk with your teacher. The teachers don't always see the problems, and often small things can be straighten out or fixed before they become too big.
