Rokakku Kites
This project was done in conjucnction with the Second Grade Japan unit. Students looked at a variety of Japanese prints focusing on the faces of the different people. They then drew their own version of one of these faces and combined it with the expresion that a cartoon character may use. Each of the kites was then colored as brightly as possible in order for the kite to been seen up in the sky. The final results really put a smile on peoples faces and made people laugh.
