Aussie Animals
It is always easy to get ideas for projects when the classroom teachers are always creating great thematic units. Here is a project based on Australian Animals. I read a couple stories based on Aussie animals and then had the kids draw out their favorite ones. Next, we had them color a background using acrylic paint, and then model their animal using paper clay. Lastly, we looked at Aboriginal art work and tried to use the same style to decorate the backgounds and their animals. The results are terrific!
