Explorers Maps
This was a simple project designed to give students an idea of how maps looked like centuries ago and how incomplete and inaccurate they really were. Each student was given a copy of a world map and asked to reproduce it freehand without the help of any aids. Next they were shown copies of old maps and were given free rein to add any things to their maps that they wanted. Lastly, the maps were dyed in collee and tea, and wrinkled and torn to give them a more authentic look.
