FIRST NINE WEEKS

  • Identify all upper and Lowercase letters
  • Identify sounds for all consonate and vowel letters
  • Identify all 2 -D shapes, cube and sphere

SECOND NINE WEEKS

  • Retell a familiar story to include beginning, middle and end with imortant facts.
  • Recite short poems, rhymes and songs
  • Describe people, places, things, locations and actions
  • Communicate effectively when relating an experience or retelling a story
  • Accurately print first and last names in D'Nealian
  • Write a sentence or two to describe people, places, things or experiences - using drawings, letters and phonetically spelled words.
  • Begin to use capitalization and punctuation at the end.
  • Write a story about one event.
  • Count objects
  • Match numbers to sets to 20
  • Recognize numerals to 20
  • Writes numbers to label sets
  • Compare two or more sets of objects 1-10 and identifies which is equal more or less.
  • Identify coins - penny, nickel, dime, quarter and the one dollar bill.
  • Name the months of the year
  • Name the four seasons
  • Order daily events
  • Tell when events occur using the terms (Morning, afternoon and night)

  • Recognize that sentences are made up of seperate words
  • Begin to understand punctuation
  • Identify and produce rhyming words
  • Identify component sounds in words
  • Segment phonemes in common words
  • Blend and segment syllables in words
  • Blends sounds to read common words
  • Make predictions from pictures and titles
  • Use complete sentences when speaking
  • Writes to desribe persons, places or experiences
  • Accurately prints first and last names and other words
  • Uses left to right pattern when writing
  • Begins to use capitals and periods in sentence writing
  • Begins to use describing words
  • Writes a piece that involves one topic
