Welcome to our library! I am so excited to be your Library Media Specialist! I will be learning a lot about you as the school year moves on, so I thought I would let you know a little bit about myself.

My name is Mrs. Lauber (Ms. Farino) and I have been teaching as a LMS since 2007. This is my fourth year at Island Trees (Prior to I.T. , I worked as an Elementary/Middle School LMS out in Eastern Suffolk County). I received my Master's Degree in Library Science from C.W. Post- L.I.U. Additionally, I have my Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph's College and I am dually certified in general and special education (grades B-6). I am also a part-time Children's Librarian at a public library.

When I am not at school teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, husband, and dog Maui. I am the oldest of four girls! I love taking Zumba classes and being outdoors. Summer is my favorite season. I also love to read and travel.

What do you like to do?

I am looking forward to a fabulous year! We will be visiting the computer lab, learning about different authors, working on research projects, collaborating on classroom units, learning about Internet Safety, book reviews, and so much more.
