The "Big Apple Race"

Date: September 8, 2009

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

You are invited to watch your child run in the "Big Apple Race" on Thursday October 22nd @ 9:20am.  We start on time so arrive at Green Meadow at least 10 minutes before race time.  This race is a culmination of our cross-country unit where your children will be running 350 meters.  We know this sounds like a long distance, but nearly all the children finish the race under 2 minutes and 30 seconds.  As the Angel says" just like babies learning to walk, they all do this in their own time." 

We encourage every child to "do their best", and finish the race.  We are very proud of this group of kindergartners!  They are doing well in Physical Education class and have come along way in their running unit.  Please come support and enjoy this event, which encourages physical fitness and lifelong activity.  Every child is rewarded with an apple and certificate after finishing the race.  Remember; bring your cameras to the "Big Apple Race!!"
