Our Extreme Weather Policy

Extreme Weather Information

When Mount Horeb Public Schools are closed due to extreme weather, C.C.S. will also be closed.  Please be prepared with an alternative childcare plan. If Mount Horeb Public Schools are closed on a regularly scheduled school day for a reason other than health or safety, Children's Community School will be open.

• When public schools are delayed one hour, C.C.S. will open at 8:30 a.m.  There will be no early morning drop-off on days that have a delayed start time.

• When public schools are delayed two hours, C.C.S. will open at 9:30 a.m. There will be no early morning drop-off on days that have a delayed start time.

• If public schools close early, C.C.S. will close early.  Please try to arrive to pick up your child(ren) before the public school closing time. For example, if public schools close at 2 p.m., please pick up your child(ren) before 2 p.m. Unexpected schedule changes can be difficult for young children; rest assured we will keep your child(ren) safe and calm until your arrival.
