| RTI-Response to Intervention Every morning from 8:00-8:30 the students will go to another class according to their performance and ability in the area of reading. This RTI time allows for differentiated instruction for all first grade students. ALL students at Patronis, grades K-5, will participate in RTI. Dictation Sentences Dictation Sentences are sentences that I have called out and asked the students to write correctly, using the word wall as a guide. This will be a grade each week for the writing process. Right now, I am looking for a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence, correct spacing, correct spelling (all words are on our word wall) and punctuation at the end. Please remember that this is an assessment of your child's progress in the area of writing process. | Lesson 12 Spelling Test/Comprehension Starting this week I am adding a comprehension assessment from the Harcourt Storytown to our spelling test. The children practice this story during the week but may also practice at home. You can find this story on our website under our links. The students should be able to navigate to this site. Thanksgiving Lunch PreK-2nd grade students are inviting their parents to Thanksgiving Lunch on November 19th. The cost will be $5. The students really look forward to this special lunch! Our lunch is at 10:45-11:15. We hope to see you there! Santa Pictures are coming home today! If interested please turn in by Friday, November 20th. |
| FAIR ASSESSMENTS Please check your child's folder for the parent letter explaining your child’s results with the FAIR assessment which replaced the DIBELS assessment we did in the past. This test measures all of the components of reading .There are many strategies listed in the letters for how to best help your child at home. We will take this assessment again in the winter and at the end of the school year. | Mapping Home Task I'm loving all of the maps I've received so far! Please make sure your child completes the mapping assignment before November 20th. Please work on this with them. They will be required to make a map of something at their house. Examples are backyard, bedroom, living room, garage, etc. They need to have a map key with symbols, title, and compass rose. |
