CENTRAL REGIONAL HAS A LONG HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

During the course of the construction  that added to and renovated CRHS, the  old trophy cases were destroyed. All the Banners that were in the old gym were taken down and stored and the trophies were placed in a holding area. In the summer of 2008, the Alumni association embarked on   a quest to return these cherished memories to  a place of honor. In August of 2008 with the help of the school administration, alumnus Beth Moore '91 Leslie Mangold Brown '76, Kelley Keslink-Butler '76 , Trianfillos Parlapanides '91 and Loren Adrian'74. returned the banners to thier  home in the old Gym.

During the winter of 2008/2009, donations were accepted for a new trophy case. Some trophies were temporarily displayed throughout the high school.

With the help of the  Central regional alumni association, the booster club and generous donations by  Al Leiter '84, Meghan Mcafferty'91 and Eileen Giffoniello '77, the new trophy cases were ordered.

A.J. Roselli and Son  of Bayville was contracted to construct the cabinet, which was completed and installed in Feb. 09.  On one sunday in May  many alumnus, students and teachers showed up to move, clean and display  the old trophies dating to 1956 in the new cabinet.

On May 1 2009, the case was dedicated along with 4  sports jerseys  that had been retired and now hang above the trophy case. We hope to start building a similiar trophy case on the opposite side of the entranceway as soon as possible. There are still trophies that need to be given a home.
