Hi!  My name is Mrs. Van Deusen.  Welcome to my "Home Page".  I'm figuring I should use a "home page" to tell you something about my home...so here I go!

I have 2 children:  Abby, who is 20 and is starting her junior year at Quinnipiac University and Bryan, who is 22 and has just graduated from Oneonta State. (Does anyone have a job for a fledgling Graphic Designer?)

Mr. Van Deusen and I live right here in East Greenbush.  We've been living in the same house since before Bryan was born.  We love the area!   You can often see me at the supermarket, dry cleaner and, of course, at the soccer fields!

My family loves to spend time together.  We especially like to travel.  In fact, during the summers we travel to places like New York City, Chicago and Nashville...

Chicago - 2008

We also frequently have visitors from Switzerland. Oskar, who was an exchange student who lived here with us in 2004, and his family.  He lived with us for a whole year and we became very close!

The last member of our household is Rudy!  (Did you ever see the movie "Rudy"?  That's what we named him after!) He's a soft-coated Wheaton Terrier.

In my spare time (what little I have), I like to do crafts, cook and entertain.  Mrs. Boucher and I also like to do beading together!

I've been teaching at Green Meadow for 16 years.  Before that I was doing the advertising for McDonalds.  Yes, I do know Ronald McDonald personally!

I like to have lots of fun in my classroom.  I try to greet the children every morning with music and a smile.  I've been known to "dance on the tables" just to wake up the kids on a dreary day.

I also have very high expectations for my students.  I believe they can do anything and my goal is to make them come to that same realization.

I love teaching and love all my students.  I know this is going to be an awesome year!
