Passport to the USA [May] Social Studies State Research Project

You will pick a state out of a hat and that state will become yours!! You will research, design, and create a travel brochure for your state. You will pretend you are the State Tourism Director and you are in charge of designing this year's Travel Brochure of your state. Your job will be to encourage people to visit your state. Much of the research and typing will be done in class.

We will hold a “Passport to the USA Convention” at the end of the school year. You will be the Tourism Director for your state at your state’s booth. You will greet visitors (students from our class as well as any parents who might attend the ‘convention’). You will have on display your travel brochure and any other items that you may wish to include (i.e. Food and drinks, pictures/post cards, state flag, produce, and etc.) You may also ‘dress up’ as your state. I have a BIG BOOK of all kinds of ideas. You may ‘sign out’ the book at any time, if desired.
