The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe [LW&W] -- During the last quarter we do an extensive novel study of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. There are 17 chapters, we try to cover 2- to 3- chapters a week. We do various hands-on activities culminating the unit by watching the 2005 movie and comparing and contrasting the book to the movie. There are reading assignments, vocabulary, spelling pages, and etc. for homework with this unit. The best part though, as I've heard from students in the past, -- NO READING PACKETS!

Chapters 12-14 Vocabulary Exercise has a "Flower Search". Wikipedia has all the flowers listed with a picture and description.
