IOU HOMEWORK 
All three fourth grade classrooms are implementing the same homework practice. We would like all parents/guardians to have an awareness and understanding of this 4th grade procedure to ensure that parents, students and teachers are consistently following through. This homework procedure will help your child develop responsibility and independence, which are two important skills needed in fourth grade.
How it works:
1. If your child does not have his or her completed homework on the day it is due, they will be asked to sign the IOU Homework Binder documenting what assignment is missing.
2. Your child will also place a signature box into his
or her agenda. This box requires the student's,
teacher's, and a parent/guardian's signature.
This all must be done the day your child received an IOU signature box and brought in the next day with the homework that was incomplete or missing.
3. It is important for parents to check their child's agenda every day to support their child with these responsibilities.
