"Children are the living messages that we send to a time we will not see." Summer has arrived and everyone is ready to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. Summer also gives us an opportunity to take a little time to reflect on the school year that has just come to a close and to rejoice in our accomplishments. This past year has seen many new initiatives that will continue to strengthen the academic programs at Queen of Heaven. They include participation in the Enhancing Education Through Technology Grant; beginning the process of accreditation by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges; and implementation of an Early Literacy Program in grades K to 2. We have been blessed by the dedication of our teachers to all these endeavors and their willingness to go the extra mile to create numerous opportunities for school improvement through consultation and collaboration. Many thank to them for sharing their time and talent! Our students have also shone brightly through distinguishing themselves in academics, sports, extracurricular activities, and service to the community. Queen of Heaven students were awarded scholarship to Mount Mercy Academy, Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, St. Mary's High School, Canisius High School, Bishop Timon - St. Jude High School, St. Francis High School, and St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. Our boys' varsity baseball team claimed the Diocesan Championship and many other sports teams went to the playoffs. Many organizations were helped through our 7th grade service project and the entire school supported the Valley Association Christmas Project as well as St. Luke's Mission of Mercy, Miles for Madison Foundation, and other charities. Thanks to teachers, parents and students for a wonderful year. We look forward to a bright and exciting future working together next year as a motivated and caring school community.
